| The following Microsoft Office 2010 application classes will be offered in St. Marys. Choose the class that meets your need and your knowledge level from basic to intermediate. Level 1 classes focus on beginner's skills and will move at a slower pace. Level 2 classes will focus on more advanced skills with less individual assistance. All classes are hands-on and very interactive. With each class, you will take home a laminated guide that will help you to remember the skills you learned and teach you new skills as you practice on your own. (minimum of 5 students)
This logo indicates that the class is free for Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau (ANFVB) members through a grant funded by the PA Department of Economic and Community Development’s Discovered in PA Developed in PA program. Up to 5 members of an ANFVB member business may attend free of charge. Excel 1 - This course will cover basic Excel screen overview, understanding and developing formulas, basic functions (sum, average, max, min), absolute and relative cell referencing, basic formatting and working with worksheets (inserting, renaming, deleting) and worksheet layout. This will be a fun filled fast paced course. Excel 2 - In this course you will learn more advanced Excel functions (IF, COUNTIF, SUMIF, VLookup, HLookup, etc.), more complicated formulas such as 3D formulas, and how to do list processing. Participants should have previous Excel experience or have taken the Basic Excel course. Microsoft Word 1 - Using MS Word 2010, this course will provide you with an overview of Microsoft Word 2 - Advance your skills in MS Word 2010. You will learn to create text columns, change character and line spacing, create different page layouts, and customize themes, set up tables and charts. You will also learn how to insert links among other import features of this program. Microsoft Access 2010 Basic - This course will review the new Access features for 2010. You will learn about understanding relational databases, terms, and concepts, field types, data types, and naming rules and conventions. You will also learn how to create a basic table, query, form, and report both by using wizards and by design from scratch. Learn how to sort and filter data to customize views. You will also have an introduction to table relationships editing a table, a form, and a query. Microsoft Access 2010 Intermediate - Using more advanced features of Access 2010 you will learn about multiple tables, table relationships, creating queries, forms, sub-forms, reports from multiple tables, creating lookup fields and tables. You will learn how to control user input and reduce input errors by setting validation rules and other parameters. Learn the many uses of Property Sheets and field and record controls, and generate advanced queries to customize user views by using criteria and other methods. Other topics covered will be database security, setting user access, importing and exporting to/from Excel and Word and other file types. If you are interested in learning more about how to use your digital camera besides just “pointing and shooting” then you will want to take this course. Students will learn about framing, composition, and creativity in taking great pictures. Topics covered will include: taking not just good, but great pictures, introduction to basic camera functions and their uses, taking pictures beyond the ordinary, handling special scenes including backlit scenes, sports and action photos, family & children, portraits, landscapes, close-ups and macro photography. | Navagating the4 Internet for Seniors |
| This hands-on class, designed with seniors in mind, will teach you how to use the Internet. The Internet is a big and sometimes scary place, but there is so much good information you can get by using it. You’ll learn tips and tricks to make your Internet browsing safe and efficient.
